Michel, a French teacher, went to Carleton University, studied French literature and World History and finished with honours. Then to Queens’ to Teachers' College and is still working, supply teaching. He’s going to be 75 at the end of June 2023. He got a lovely compliment  the other day from the grade 5 girls. They said he’s the best teacher they have ever had. That was nice to hear because he is a caring and excellent teacher with a great sense of humour.

He gets the kids working out when he teaches physical education, they need their exercise. Good for the brain and body, doing push ups and sit-ups, running, stretching, playing games. He was getting them to touch their toes, three quarters of the children couldn’t do it and he puts

them to. A teacher in his seventies who could be their grandfather and he has been working out for over sixty years. He takes very good care of himself. It’s nice to see him back like his old self again. It warms Kim's. heart seeing others happy and content that's an empath for you. It's very important to keep ourselves balanced in Mind* Body* Soul & Spirit.....

FIRST YEARS OF TEACHING ON THE BASE AT UPLANDS .

Michel teaching in 1972 on the Base at Uplands and didn't make very much money back then. To put himself through university he did construction work made more money the four months he was working building the appartments there ($400 a week) than his whole first year of teaching ($4,500 a year). His first day on the construction site at Alta Vista Towers  he was 22 floors up, he had to climb over the ledge to remove the wooden forms from the concrete slab above the top balconies. He wore a safety harness held by another worker called Joe who told him not to look down. With a crowbar he had to pry the 2x6 wooden forms around each slab. The first one took him half an hour as he was very afraid to make a fatal mistake especially when he had to pass the loosened pieces to Joe over the ledge. The next one took a little less time and by noon he finished all fourteen slabs. He certainly cured himself of his fear of heights. He never enjoyed lunchtime as much as that day!

At Saint-Charles parish he wanted to be a teacher back then. He always had a passion for helping kids and enjoyed teaching sport skills to the youth group. When he started teaching on the base the TV program "Welcome Back Kotter" was on the television and very popular. They would call him Mr Kotter, he looked a little bit like the character and apparently acted somewhat like him. The students he taught loved his personality and outgoing nature. They were younger than the the actors on the tv show. He was a fun teacher but they also had to behave themselves and never disrespect him and he would never yell. Gave that teacher look of his, by staring them down.

He taught grades 6 7 and 8 when teaching on the Base and knew many of the parents from playing hockey and softball with them. The children knew they couldn't get away with anything. It was a community and Michel knew some of the officers as well and would go to the mess were the beer was cheap. It was the best teaching job he ever had.  All the teachers getting together for TGIF (Thank God It's Friday) they'd have a great time partying, laughing and joking till it was time to leave. The kids he taught if they needed help he'd stay after school and made teaching a joy by telling his jokes, the students learned better that way. It was the best time ever to be around and even now he's had children in his class finding out he taught one of their parents. Kim's sure most likely some of their grandchildren as well.

All Those Years Ago How Time Flies By and He Still Loves Teaching, It Keeps Him Young.

Rethinking Education (Part 1) -

Sadhguru & Ken Robinson

 True North

According to a new report on cancel culture and political discrimination in academia, 73% of Canadian university arts professors are leftists, and only 4% are conservative. What is it like for professors and graduate students to work in this greatly unbalanced environment?

Graduated from Carleton in 1971 and Queen's  in 1972

Michel majored in French Literature and History in university, graduated with honours. He's an avid reader, very well educated and shares his knowledge  and some good information  with his wife. She didn't get an education, being dyslexic with other difficulties. She is  learning  some important  facts which she had  no  idea  of.  To be honest  she  wasn't  interested  when she was younger. She had more of a

liberal way of thinking having that mentality and hated the educational institution with a passion and couldn't wait to leave school at the age of fifteen. She was clueless and being a free spirit, didn’t want anyone telling her what she should think and do. She believes in free will but was taught responsibility and to use her common sense. Her mother would say she would never say sorry, she felt she had nothing to say sorry about; that's how her brain was wired. So why should she? She was telling the truth; this a great example when she was a little girl,  her mom after washing her hair would put a leave in water rinse. She would get many compliments from older people;  saying what beautiful golden and silky wavy  hair she had. Her reply "my mommy colours my hair". She was told you do not discuss our business  you keep it to yourself. This didn't make sense she was told to be honest, and this was very easy for her having this syndrome. This is why she put this website together she cannot stand liars and people who are deceitful, it's not in her being and will stand up for what she believes in.
